Class of 2026: ISP and where graduates are going

Class of 2026: How ISP’s best-fit approach shaped where our graduates are going

ISP NewsHigh School

The International School of Panama (ISP) College and Careers Counseling program is guided by a core philosophy: rather than focusing solely on institutional prestige, ISP guides each student to a university where they will flourish, belong, and lead.

The outcomes of the Class of 2026 reflect the impact of this approach, combining admissions to competitive universities with placements that match each student’s personal and academic profile, as well as their aspirations for the future.

What makes our program stand out

At ISP, we don’t measure success by the logo on an acceptance letter. A prestigious name matters far less than whether a university genuinely fits who a student is and who they want to become. Our College and Careers team is built to find that fit, guiding each student toward a place where they will flourish, belong, and lead, not just get in. That philosophy shows up in five ways:

  • Consistency and care: High-touch with families throughout the university application process.
  • Hands-on experience: Real-world experiences and future-thinking events.
  • Intentional reflection: Structured opportunities for student self-assessment, such as the Junior Retreat.
  • Ecosystem engagement: Active and established relationships with university admissions offices globally.
  • Relationships beyond graduation: Ongoing connections with ISP alumni.

The class of 2026 by the numbers

Data from the 2026 cycle highlights the scope of achievements across the senior class:

  • 89 Seniors in the graduating class (including 60 IB Diploma students).
  • 98% applied to universities.
  • 598 total applications submitted across 16 countries (an average of 5.89 applications per student).
  • Confirmed matriculations across 9 countries: Canada, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain, UK, U.S., and Panama.
  • 95.7% admitted to universities that felt like a strong fit.
  • 63% admitted to their first-choice university.
  • $4.29 million awarded in traditional scholarships, alongside $65.1 million in Match Offers.

      Distinctive pathways and external recognition

One of ISP’s most distinctive pathways is the Innovation & Entrepreneurship (IE) Diploma, a route that blends academic learning with real-world, project-based experience for students who want to build, create, and solve problems beyond the traditional classroom. It’s important not to confuse it with the IB Diploma: while [60] members of the Class of 2026 completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, the IE Diploma is a separate, newer pathway, and this year’s class includes its first graduating cohort, 15 students who are now moving on to a broad range of universities across the United States, Canada, and Europe. Earning acceptances to nearly 30 institutions—including George Washington University, University of Toronto Mississauga, American University, Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), and the University of Delaware (Honors College). These students are pursuing interdisciplinary pathways that sit at the intersection of business, technology, creativity, design, and innovation. From Bioengineering and Finance to Game Design and entrepreneurship paired with sports science, it’s an early, tangible example of ISP building new routes tailored to different kinds of learners and the diverse futures they envision.

Additionally, students earned external academic recognition prior to graduation. During the 2026 cycle, junior students received 15 Junior Book Awards, including awards from Brown University, Dartmouth College, Johns Hopkins University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Rensselaer Medal), WPI (Innovation Award), University of Rochester, and Saint Michael’s College.

The long view: An investment in future potential

ISP views university outcomes through the lens of long-term student development:

“When we guide students to institutions where they will flourish, belong, and lead, we’re not settling for less – we’re building more resilient, fulfilled, and impactful graduates.”
