Conscious Discipline:
Our Social Emotional Learning Curriculum

Conscious Discipline is a program that provides our students, teachers, and parents with strategies to help them navigate a diversity of situations encountered in their daily life and social interactions.

It teaches them to self regulate, negotiate, and advocate for themselves. It is the foundation supporting our Early Childhood program.

Our school counselor visits the classroom every two weeks to support children in regulating their emotions and behaviors.

During these visits, she provides a mini-lesson focused on understanding emotions and setting behavior expectations.

The lessons are designed to be engaging and interactive.

Creativity Takes the Spotlight at ISP

Our Creative Curriculum is research-based, influenced by educators and psychologists like Montessori, Piaget, and Vygotsky.

Its 38 development and learning objectives focus on key predictors of school success, covering areas such as socio-emotional development, cognition, literacy, math, science, and the arts, ensuring children build the essential skills for success.

The Classroom

In the Reggio Emilia Approach, the classroom is considered the “third teacher”, with every element purposefully designed to foster exploration and engagement.

The environment plays an active role in children’s learning, with each area serving a specific function.

Spaces are introduced gradually,
with clear guidelines for use.

Classroom centers feature Open/Closed signs to maintain structure, and small group setups encourage collaboration and community building.

By limiting the number of children per area, we support exploration and help all children feel comfortable and independent in their learning.
